General Information on these Lugers:
German WW1 and WW2 Lugers
We just received a shipment out of Ethiopia. All our Luger
pistols are in “As Is” Trade in condition.
Many of these Lugers have original Matching Serial numbers.
These guns have a very interesting Journey behind them.
These Lugers were most likely captured during WW2 by the Russians. Some of the
have the “X” as a capture marking on them, but not many.
In the 1950’s after Stalin’s death, Nikita Khrushchev developed closer ties to
the East Germans. As a sign of friendship, he returned many of the German WW2
small arms to East Germany.
East Germany used them with their newly formed armed forces,
the NVA or Nationale Volksarmee.
Once these Lugers became obsolete and were replaced with
TT33 and Makarovs, these Lugers were given to the East German police, the
Volkspolizei or translated “Peoples Police”.
In the 1980’s these pistols were sold or traded to Ethiopia.
In 1974 the emperor Haile Selassie was killed by the communist and a Marxist
government was established with close ties to the Warsaw Pact countries. This is why we find so many firearms with
Eastern European origin in Ethiopia.
Back to these Lugers. Each pistol features many original
markings. We also have some Mauser Banner Police pistols in this lot.
The East German Lugers are very rare. We only received about
170 pcs. This is probably all which is left in the world of East German Lugers.
Each Luger is carefully test fired with 3 rounds. Every
P.08 comes with a new reproduction magazine.
We decided to list every Luger individually. This will
guarantee 100% customer satisfaction. You will see exactly the pistol you will
be buying with many photos.
Each pistol is carefully graded with the following criteria:
-overall condition
-bore condition
-matching numbers, force matched numbers or non-matching
-markings
-manufacturer (if any)
